The Great Big Jewish Food Fest was born from a recognition that food industry professionals and small businesses are struggling in our current crisis, many people are facing food insecurity, and as a community we need to come together to support them. We asked, how might we use the talents of our Jewish food community in new ways to make a difference?
Together, we have raised over $150,000 to support restaurants and food businesses, their employees and those experiencing hunger due to COVID-19.
Beneficiary partners include:
Jewish Food Society’s Feed the healthcare heroes on NYC’s front line, which buys meals from many of our favorite Jewish restaurants and delivers meals the healthcare workers.
James Beard Foundation’s Open For Good, a campaign to support the recovery and rebuilding of an independent restaurant industry that is stronger than ever.
JDC’s Fund to Provide Aid to Vulnerable Jews, providing food and care for 40,000 of the world’s poorest elderly Jews and children.
MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger’s COVID-19 Response Fund which helps anti-hunger movement leaders respond quickly to pressing issues that will disproportionately impact the lives of food insecure people.
Repair the World's Spring into Solidarity Campaign for Food Justice to support partner organizations, such as shelters and food banks, on the front lines of COVID-19 relief efforts in cities across the United States.
